Depeche Mode puts Milan Show on DVD
Published: 2006-02-22

Eighties synthpop band Depeche Mode is committing their Milan shows this past weekend to DVD.

"We're quite excited, because the audience went absolutely bananas," keyboardist Andrew Fletcher told Billboard.com. "We did Paris [for the last DVD], and we thought we'd do Milan since we work there a lot, and it worked out really well."

The shows that took place over the weekend of February 18 took place in Milan’s Filaforum, but the DVD isn’t expected to be released until September.

Depeche Mode grew to fame in the eighties when their brand of catchy synthpop resonated with fans all over the world. Their influences are seen in the modern electronic dance scene.

Their current European tour backing their 2005 album Playing the Angel is their most successful UK tour to date. Though the band wrapped up the North American leg of their tour at the end of 2005 they’ll be heading back across the pond for a few dates in April including a headlining gig at the Coachella Music Festival. They will then be touring Europe and the rest of the world through the summer months.
