Sure, we all know "The Best Of, Volume 1" CD, limited CD/DVD, and DVD compilations come out in November (13 in UK, 14 in US). What you did not know is that Mute has been at work, commissioning remixers to remix the Best Of! A handful of the new remixes are listed on the site. Watch for sound samples, and more tracks, to be announced soon!

Online now are the details for the DVD companion release for "The Best Of". It might seem confusing, but it is rather simple. There will be a CD, a limited edition CD with the Brown Owl Films documentary, and a separate "The Best Of" music video DVD. That's the UK version. In the US, the documentary will not be released, and the US limited CD will feature the music video DVD. You still have the option of purchasing it separately as well. Phew...

DM Best Live Return Nominee
Depeche Mode, Take That, and Pink Floyd have been nominated for best live return.
Music legends The Who are to be awarded a lifetime achievement award for their live shows. The band will be given the gong at the inaugural Vodafone Live Music Awards next month. Original The Who band member Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend will collect The Freddie Mercury Lifetime Achievement in Live Music award on October 11. The Freddie Mercury Lifetime Achievement in Live Music award has been created to honour the contribution the late Queen singer made to live music.
Nominees for the other titles include Coldplay, the Kaiser Chiefs, Muse and Razorlight for best live act. Foo Fighters, the Scissor Sisters, The Killers and U2 are up for International Live Act.
The awards are being held at the Roundhouse in central London on October 11.
