Northern CA Show
Depeche Mode returns to Northern California this April when they play the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA on April 28th. This show sees the band playing the night before their co-headlining date of the Coachella Festival in Indio, CA on April 29th.

DM to Release Another Album in 2006

Last year was busy for Depeche Mode, and 2006 is shaping up to be just as busy, with a massive tour already booked, more shows being added all the time and... get this... another album!
Don't expect a full length album of new material, however. It's a compilation - a "Best Of" of sorts - that will be in stores in time for Xmas 2006. The "Best Of" will top off a year chuck full of Depeche Mode releases.
Simon Heyworth, a UK based mastering legend, is currently working on a complete remastering of Depeche Mode's entire album back catalogue. These will be released in batches of three every few months beginning from March. Each disc will feature 5.1 remastered sound and as yet undisclosed bonus content.
As "Touring The Angel" draws to a close some time in August, the concert experience will be heading to stores on DVD. The live DVD is tentatively set for a September release. No word yet on whether the DVD will be accompanied by a CD release, but here's hoping it will.
The next single, "Suffer Well", will be with us as soon as February... featuring remixes by, amongst others, Alter Ego. The fourth single, "John The Revelator", should be with us by late April/early May.

re-mastered by Kevin Vanbergen at Worldwide, the in-house studio at Mute and not by Alan Wilder as Dave Gahan said in an interview with our colleagues from D-side. As of yet it is not sure what extras, if any, will accompany the individual albums. The release of the sets should not be expected before end of March to early April, more or less around the same time the band will release the fourth single from their current album, "John The Revelator".

Apologies for the lack of Depeche Mode info for the last several days. I joined with many others and got some sort of virus and was barely able to get out of bed, let alone get on the computer.
I received this information from the official DM website (since they are beginning their European leg of the tour on 01/13).

Strict Security measures at venues - 29-year old suspect taken into custody
For the sold-out German leg of the Depeche Mode indoor tour due to start mid January approx. 2000 forged tickets have been sold. These tickets were auctioned via Ebay under the member names "werd mich los" and "Ediths Ð 1 a Textilien,de". Of course the promoter will not be able to honor these falsifications. This is also not possible due to the legal capacity restrictions which must be adhered to.
German promoter Marek Lieberberg and the CTS-Eventim ticketing company will implement strict entry controls at all Depeche Mode concerts. The barcodes of all tickets will be checked with mobile scanners. Purchasers of forged tickets will be denied entry and should request compensation from the relevant Ebay agents.
Mid December the Berlin police had taken a 29-year old suspect into custody. The man had been arrested in a local hotel and was in possession of an illegal loaded weapon. He is suspected of fraudulent distribution of forged Depeche Mode tickets via the Internet. The criminal police department of Berlin has written to all purchasers of these tickets with a request for witness statements.
The German Depeche Mode tour starts January 13th in Dresden, followed by concerts in Hamburg, Berlin, DŸsseldorf, Erfurt, Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Friedrichshafen and Mannheim.
Next summer the band will play open-air-shows in Berlin, Bremen and Leipzig as well as the "Rock am Ring" and "Rock im Park"-festivals. Tickets are still available for these open-air shows at official CTS-ticket outlets

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
My apologies for lack of news lately...My personal schedule has been a bit busy! I found out yesterday that the LJ group I maintain for DM (DMFans is now up to a steady 180 members! What a treat!
I am compiling a large number of photos of the band, some rare, some not-so-rare. I'm in the process of organizing these photos in a photobucket account, so stay tuned to that. As always, if you would like to submit any of your own photos, feel free to mail them to rootofshe at gmail dot com. As always, please include your name & date/show the photo was taken at, if applicable!
